°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íødent Cameron Rouse Blends Passion for Advocacy with Education in Internship with the Learning Disability Association of NB
Third-year Great Books °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íødent Cameron Rouse spent the summer working as a fundraising lead and community liaison at the Learning Disability Association of New Brunswick -- an experience that connected them with professionals and provided real work experience.
“Through my internship, I was able to blend my passion for education with my love of advocacy and practice it in a workplace,” said Rouse.
“It is such a privilege to take advantage of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íø’s numerous career connections and development opportunities during your undergraduate degree.”
During their internship, Rouse gained hands-on experience in fundraising and communications by assisting in the coordination of the association’s tutoring programs, planning social media content, communicating with potential donors and sponsors, and advocating for and educating children with learning disabilities.
“My favourite experience was researching and creating educational material to help those who have or have loved ones with learning disabilities,” said Rouse.
“It was so special to be able to spread awareness and tutor and watch the development of my students.”
